La Nuit de la Science (The Night of Science) is a biannual public open-air event with the goal of the popularization of science. Our group contributed significantly to the preparation, while Alexey Kuzmenko has been coordinating the contribution of the entire Department of Quantum Matter Physics (DQMP). The general topic of the DQMP contibution was “2D materials”. The event was a great success, where lots of people learned what graphene and other van der Waals materials are and even exfoliated their own atomic monolayer graphene samples.
